Stainless steel precision casting is a kind of technology which uses wax mould, sand mould and liquid material to fill and form when stainless steel products can not be produced by bending pipe and other processes.

The advantages and disadvantages of stainless steel precision casting process are as follows:

1. Because of the poor fluidity of liquid steel, the wall thickness of steel castings should not be less than 8 mm to prevent cold shut and lack of pouring;

The structure of the casting system should be simple and the section size should be larger than that of cast iron;

2. Because the shortening of stainless steel investment casting is much more than that of cast iron, in order to prevent shrinkage cavity and porosity defects, riser, chill and supplementary measures are mostly used in casting process to complete sequential condensation.

In stainless steel investment casting, uniform wall thickness, avoiding sharp angle and right angle structure, adding sawdust in mold sand, adding coke in core, selecting hollow core and oil sand core can improve the concession and permeability of sand mold or core.
